What Is IPL?

Individuals who are concerned about the look of hyperpigmentation or sun damage to their complexion might be great candidates for intense pulsed light therapy at Adi MedSpa. An IPL photofacial is a rejuvenating skin treatment for pigmentation concerns on the neck and face. Dr. Farooque Ahmed uses intense pulses of light to start the natural regeneration process and boost collagen production. In time, you should see a healthier appearance, an improved tone, and fewer spots. Our El Paso, TX team utilizes the Alma Harmony XL PRO laser to complete IPL therapy and can offer you a skin analysis to see if this solution can help renew your skin.

IPL FAQ

How much does IPL cost?

Your complexion issues are unique, which means the cost of IPL treatments will depend on your individual condition. At your consultation, our team can estimate your cost based on a treatment plan that helps you reach your goals. During your initial visit to Adi MedSpa, we can estimate your treatment pricing and explain how many sessions are needed to optimize your results.

How quick are the results from IPL?

Visible improvements can usually be experienced after one Harmony XL PRO IPL session, but optimal results are most commonly noticeable a month after a full series of treatments is completed. It is normal for your skin to respond differently following every treatment session. You will likely see an incremental improvement in redness, blotchiness, sun spots, and age spots over time.

Do I need to prep for IPL?

Patients about to undergo an IPL treatment are typically asked to avoid sun exposure and self-tanners for a minimum of 2 – 4 weeks before the procedure. You might need to discontinue the use of minocycline, tetracycline, doxycycline, or Retin-A/Renova several days prior to your procedure, and we may recommend that you avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications and blood thinners 5 – 7 days before the treatment to help prevent bruising.

Why should I get multiple IPL sessions?

Multiple IPL sessions are recommended to produce gradual improvements in your complexion. Every session will help to reduce areas of hyperpigmentation and sun spots. Several treatments also allow for longer-lasting aesthetic outcomes.
